Chain Replication Sample

Environment Setup
Assume three cq instances running namely

Author at port 6502
Publish at port 6503
Another publish at port 6507

Introduction
Generally you configure publish & publish1 agents at author. On activation of page gets replicated into two publish instances in parallel as below
Regular

In case you have requirement to replicate to one node within a region (publish) and then from regional instance should replicate to additional publish (publish1) nodes. You can use a technique called chain replication. So the flow would be
Chain
Though personally I do not prefer chain replication some time seen it is used when there are large number of publish instances OR based on Bandwidth Requirements between region.
Configuration

Configure the agent publish at author (6502) as you do normally to replicate from author to publish.
NormalConfig

Configure a chain replication to replicate from publish(6503) to publish1 (6507) as normal with selection of 'On Receive'
ChainConfig

After configuring activate the page from author it gets replicated to publish & then into other publish instances.

NOTE:
The content authors might confuse the green icon in siteadmin/damadmin because as soon content reaches publish (6503) turns green before all targets (6503, 6507) actually have the content.
