Campaign Management in AEM

Campaign management provides digital marketers the opportunity to deliver personalized content and so create dedicated experiences for visitors.

It allows you to orchestrate your marketing campaigns across the web, email and mobile services and so engage your visitors. You can create content, segment visitors, push and promote targeted content for specific user profiles and manage campaigns across multiple channels.
This describes the various elements that make up campaigns. More detailed information is available in the following documents:

Campaign management is made up of various elements:

Brands
In CQ, brands are the top level unit and form a collection of Campaigns.

Campaigns
A campaign is a collection of individual Experiences.

Experiences
The focused content forms the various experiences, presented to the visitor at Touchpoints. There are several types of experience available:

Teasers
Teaser Pages/Paragraphs are used to steer specific visitor Segments to content that is focused on their interests.
Teaser pages can:
present a range of options for the visitor to choose from
show only one teaser paragraph that is based on the specific visitor segment; for example, the teaser paragraph shown may be dependent on the age of the visitor.
Typically a teaser page is a temporary action that will last for a specific period of time, until it is replaced by the next teaser page.

Newsletters
E-mail Communications are used to engage users and encourage them to visit your web site. These usually take the form of a newsletter, sent to your Leads (which are usually grouped into Lists). Note: Adobe is not planning to further enhance this capability. Recommendation is to leverage Adobe Campaign and the integration to AEM.

Test&Target
This allows integration with Adobe’s Test&Target which gives marketers a conversion website optimization tool with the necessary capabilities to continually make their online content and offers more relevant to their customers—yielding greater conversion. Test&Target provides an intuitive interface for designing and executing tests, creating audience segments and targeting content—all from a single application.

Touchpoints
These are the points of contact between the visitor and your campaign. The touchpoints are connected to the experiences that you have created.
For example, for teasers it is the content page where the teaser paragraph is located, for a newsletter it is the mailing list.

Leads
The information that you have collected about your visitors and how to contact them forms the basis for your leads.Note: Adobe is not planning to further enhance this capability.
Recommendation is to leverage Adobe Campaign and the integration to AEM.

Lists
Leads are usually grouped into lists so that you can take collective action on them. Note: Note: Adobe is not planning to further enhance this capability.
Recommendation is to leverage Adobe Campaign and the integration to AEM.

Segments
Site visitors have different interests and objectives when they come to a site. Analyzing this according to factors such as activity on the website, profile information registered and activity on other websites, helps you to define segments. Content can then be specifically targeted to the visitor’s needs and interests according to the segment(s) they match.

MCM
The Marketing Campaign Manager (MCM) is a console that allows you to access all the functionality you need to create and control your campaigns, brands, experiences, touchpoints, leads, lists, segments and reports.

No Teaser Template Available while creating Campaigns in AEM 6.x

Question: We have implemented personalization and now we were trying to create the teaser for the page. In mcmadmin screen, I create a Brand, then a campaign, then in the campaign we create a teaser. Clicked on a campaign and then clicked on “New”, it showed me options for various templates available for use. I am not able to see any template to create a teaser. It is even shown in the article available at https://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/aem/6-1/author/personalization/campaigns/teasers-and-strategies.html

but the teaser template is not available to me. The screenshot attached. Any ideas why I am not able to get the template?

Answer: Teaser page was available in 5.x, It has been renamed to “Offer Page” in AEM 6.x

Steps to integrate Adobe Analytics with Adobe Campaign.

Basically Analytics integration for the AEM website and mobile app procedure remains the same. Below given mobile app procedures.

Adobe campaign:
Adobe Campaign lets you design and orchestrates targeted and personalized campaigns on multiple channels, such as e-mail, direct mail, SMS, Wap Push, search, social, etc.

Adobe Analytics:
Analytics service provides various levels of views like visitor geo-location, what days they come the most frequently, and how long they’re staying as well as several metrics based on e-commerce data, CRM attributes, engagement, etc

Adobe Analytics data can be used to create effective Adobe campaign across channels. Adobe Analytics & Campaign Combined Together can deliver the following capabilities.
  • Performance measurement in real-time
  • 360-degree qualification and targeting
  • Highly personalized re-marketing
Campaign to Mobile App
The Mobile App Channel lets you use the Adobe Campaign platform to send personalized notifications to iOS and Android terminals via apps. Basically, there are two delivery channels available:
  • An iOS channel
  • An Android channel
There are ways to opt-out of it. The NMAC opt-out management (mobileAppOptOutMgt) workflow updates notification unsubscriptions on mobile devices.

Adobe Campaign is compatible with both binary and HTTP/2 APNS.

To use the functionalities of the Adobe Campaign Mobile App Channel, you need to change/adapt your mobile application to integrate it into the Adobe Campaign platform using Two SDKs (one for android, other for iOS)

How Campaign Collects Data

Action, Event activities support below data collection methods.
The Data loading- RDBMS: The Data loading (RDBMS) activity lets you access this external database directly and to collect only the data required for targeting.
The Loading- SOAP: The Loading (SOAP) activity is used in addition to the data loading (RDBMS) activity when it is not possible to collect data directly via the FDA in an external database.
Data loading (file): The Load (File) activity lets you directly access a source of external data and use it in Adobe Campaign. A scheduler can be run to retrieve the file.

Campaign set up procedure steps are given below.
Configure connectors

Collecting information (collect the technical specifications which define the set of parameters that enable Adobe Campaign and the mobile application to communicate, like integration key, variables, URLs, etc)

Creating the service
Adobe Campaign administrator needs to create and configure a service linked to the mobile application

Push Notification services.
APNS (Apple Push Notification Service) for Apple
GCM (Google Cloud Messaging) for Android

Adobe Campaign uses two types of APIs:
Generic data access APIs for querying the data model data
Business-specific APIs that let you act on each object: deliveries, workflows, subscriptions, etc.
