During many issue resolution seen a couple of cases like "Workflow Notifications not appearing in Inbox", "not able to edit the page in Author" etc... Further investigation reveals the node name was incorrectly mapped to node type. Ex:- rep:policy mapped to sling:orderedFolder and you might notice errors like 'Node must be of type rep:ACL' etc.... Cause for wrong node type could be playing with curl commands during initial learning phase OR custom implementation issue OR following bad practice like converting publish into author instance etc... This tool would help to find those nodes and then you can take corrective steps to fix it.
Please follow & input the fields as per the case. Below is an example of checking rep: policy & from the color-coding output you can see that one page as wrong node type.
0) Download the package 1) Login to instance as an administrative user. 2) Install the package. 3) Go to http://host:port/apps/tools/components/checknodes/run.html 4) Enter the desired input path and click "find"
