This post explains the details to resolve the issues observed while building or uploading the big packages between AEM instances
java.io.IOException: No space left on device while building the package:
The "java.io.IOException: No space left on device" error will be thrown while building big packages in the AEM server without having sufficient space available in /tmp folder.

To fix the issue-
Option1
Add additional space to the /tmp folder
Option2
Point to the custom tmp folder in server startup file - make sure the aem user is owning the custom tmp folder
CQ_JVM_OPTS='-server -Xmx8192m -XX:MaxPermSize=512M -XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError -XX:HeapDumpPath=/app/aem/crash -Djava.awt.headless=true -Duser.timezone=US/Central -Djava.io.tmpdir=/app/tmp'
Error while uploading/Installing the package:
Sometimes uploading a package on my AEM server via Package Manager is keeps loading it for a long time and then fails without any exception. This scenario is observed in most of the cases while uploading the packages with a big size.
To fix the issue:
Upload and install the package via Curl command - Execute the command from the folder where the packages are available
curl -u admin:admin -F "file=@test_package-1.0.zip" -F "name=test_package-1.0" -F force=true -F install=true http://localhost:4502/crx/packmgr/service.jsp --progress-bar -o upload.txt
The detailed status is captured in upload.txt file created under the folder from where the command is executed.
